About The LAMP
The Leadership Academy for Matriarchs and Patriarchs (The LAMP) provides personal consulting and life coaching services for individuals, families, and small work teams. We specialize in developing leaders and improving the role that leadership plays in our clients’ relationships and helping them achieve their most important goals.
We provide a transformative experience for our individual and group clients. Our process begins with a listening session to understand each client’s goals. Then we create a curated personalized program delivered confidentially and securely for each of our clients. Early beta testing shows that our “test” clients reported noticeable improvements in their communication, confidence, and leadership abilities at home and at work. We use lessons from leadership at work and apply them to leadership at home, and vice versa.
We are not therapists nor counselors, although we are able to offer referrals when appropriate. Our competitive advantage rests with an uncommon combination of personal, professional, and academic experiences of working successfully with individuals, families, and small groups of closely connected teams. About the Founder
Wendell M. Gray is the founder and lead consultant. He established The LAMP on the belief that people want to see their families and loved ones do well in life. This belief fuels his desire to help individuals become better leaders in their families, in their places of work, and in other communities of interest. He developed a specialized program to increase the skills, abilities, and confidence for those who desire to become more effective leaders in one of the most important social units in our society – the family.
Wendell and his sister Wendy grew up together in southeastern Virginia, enjoying the ups and downs of interacting within a multigenerational family. They knew that their family was special, but it was not until their adolescence and young adult years when they realized that not everyone had this experience. Wendell enjoyed long and simultaneous careers as a highly regarded leader of people in the military and logistics industries. He is currently a visionary business leader who directly supports and advocates for dozens of small family-owned retail businesses. He is also humbly acknowledged as a generational leader in his own extended family. Wendy serves as an outside consultant for The LAMP and has dedicated her life to serving others, first as a public-school educator and now through ministry. She is also a wife, mother, and experienced family leader in her own right.
Their individual success helping people of all ages develop and growth their skills to achieve team and life goals provided the catalyst for them to formalize their efforts. The LAMP allows them to use their collective talents to help improve our world by serving individuals and their families personally and professionally.
